3 Dead, 3 Injured, Following Shooting at the University of Alabama-Hunstville
BREAKING NEWS – – ABCNews.com is reporting that six students were shot on the University of Alabama in Hunstville campus this afternoon. Officials at the school have comfirmed that three people are dead and three had been injured. Ray Garner, a university spokesperson, told ABC that a woman was taken into custody following the shooting, but he refused to identify her or answer questions as to whether or not she is in fact a student or member of the faculty.
Witnesses on the scene report that the shootings occured in the university’s Shelby Center science building. Campus police quickly moved in to secure the facility, and students were immediately evacuated. According to the school’s website, classes are cancelled for the evening and crisis counselors have been made available.
