Anna Sui Brings Gossip Girl Fashion to Target

The stars literally aligned last night when designer Anna Sui, the fabulous cast of Gossip Girl and our all-time favorite store Target came together in a celebration of— what else?— fashion. The ever quirky Anna Sui is the latest designer to collaborate with Target, and the clothing line is directly Gossip Girl-inspired. Hitting stores and Target.com this Sunday, New York shoppers got a special preview at a pop-up shop in Soho that opened last night as part of the evening’s Fashion’s Night Out festivities.

Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, Jessica Szohr, Michelle Trachtenberg and Taylor Momsen (alas, the lovely Leighton Meester was absent) all showed up last night at the shop to support Anna Sui, sip Champagne, and, oh yeah, buy clothes!

Each Gossip girl (Blair, Serena, Vanessa and Jenny) has four to five specific looks, and they all channel those reliable stereotypes the characters spend every episode trying to shake.

For Blair it’s all little dresses, sophisticated and demure with ribbons and bows. Party dresses and an odd plaid vest-and-capri combo channel Serena in sophisticated black and grey. The overwhelming oranges and browns of Vanessa’s looks say “boho” with a puffer vest and varsity jacket rounding out a set of print dresses and skirts. And Little J is dark and moody as always, with some cute but edgy dresses offsetting a pair of heinous print leggings and red and black plaid skirt of questionable taste.

As these girls are headed to college (and Jenny to the head of the class as Constance’s Queen Bee), we’ve graded the looks for a perfect bell curve so you know what to buy when the collection hits stores next week. And trust us: like all good gossip, these looks will go fast.

Blair: A+

Serena: B

Vanessa: C+

Jenny: D-
