3 Chic (But Cheap) St. Patty’s Day Outfits

By Ashley Yenick, Student at Merrimack College

Saint Patrick’s Day is here! It’s a fun holiday to celebrate whether you’re Irish or not!

Whether you’re going to a parade in your hometown or a party, we have some great outfit choices for you, and each item’s under $50! In this Chic but Cheap post, we’ve created outfits that you can wear over and over again (score!), so it’s a win-win!

The trick to successful holiday outfit is to accent pieces. In this case, we’ve created outfits that accent the color green for St. Patty’s Day!

Look #1: Cute and Casual

Look #1 is one of my favorites out of the whole set! I created this look for girls who want to be cute and casual when they’re doing their St. Patty’s Day festivities. Like I said before, adding accent pieces into your outfit is key to creating a cute outfit without overdoing it. I’ve added a white lace T-shirt to mix it up from the normal plain white T-shirt. I’ve also added adorable Kate Spade studs that come in this gorgeous color green (plus you can wear them over and over again). There’s also a Kelly green scarf from Etsy and a pair of green Toms to create the perfect casual look. This look also can be used at any outdoor event that you have. I love this look because you can reuse all of these items!

Look #2: Sweet and Chic

I created this next look for all the girls that live in the South where it will be warm this St. Patrick’s Day! These adorable watercolor green shorts from Forever 21 look great with a light sweater and some sandals. I love this look because you can easily transition it into spring and wear this another day other than St. Patrick’s Day! I also love these jelly sandals (‘90s kids do you remember these?!) which are making a TOTAL comeback this spring and summer. Alex and Ani bracelets have also taken the college girl world wardrobe by storm, and they have an adorable four-leaf clover bracelet that ties this outfit together. I love this outfit because you can wear it to class on a nice day, too.

Look #3: Sassy and Sophisticated

Look #3 is a look that I called "Sassy and Sophisticated" because it’s a little bit fancier than the other two outfits I created. If you have a family party or dinner party you have to go to, this outfit’s a little bit dressier. I added a cute green blouse and green wedges to keep the St. Patrick’s Day theme with a gold chevron arrow bracelet to make this outfit pop. I like the matching wedges because it’s just a tiny accent that makes the outfit put together.
