5 Outfit Ideas for New Year’s Eve
By Ashley Yenick, Student at Merrimack College
The holiday season is in full swing and now it’s finally time for New Year’s Eve!
We’ve put together five outfits to help you have your perfect outfit for ringing in the new year. Happy shopping!
Want to feel glam this New Year’s Eve? When we think of New Year’s Eve, sparkles and glitter come to my mind immediately. This outfit has a sparkly gold dress and adorable nude heels with gold detail on them. To finish this look, we have a nude quilted bag with a gold strap. This look is perfect if you’re going to a party or a restaurant with your significant other, family or friends!
This next outfit is for the girls who love to dress edgy. Motorcycle jackets are no longer just for bikers — they've been in style this season! Studs are also something that’s been seen in recent stores. Next, we have a sparkly gold top with black jeans to still give the outfit the New Year’s vibe. Then, we have black heels with a little gold detail on them. These shoes are perfect to match the motorcycle jacket and gold shirt. Finally, we have a gold clutch and a studded bracelet to match this awesome outfit.
Love dressing up? This next outfit is for that fancy party you’re attending! I called this one Fashion Forward because I’ve included a lot of items that are in this season. First on this outfit is a peplum shirt. Peplums are new shirts that have an amazing flair to a regular tank top or shirt. They can be paired with anything! Next, I have a bold patterned skirt that is staying within the New Year’s Eve theme with the gold sparkle. Then, I have black and gold open-toed wedges that match with the outfit, complete with a simple black clutch.
This next outfit is for a casual night out on New Year's Eve or for staying in at a house party or dinner. You can still dress up even if you stay in for New Year’s! I found this great jacket to spice up a plain white shirt and black jeans. To go even further with sparkles, I added these cute stud and sparkle flats. Finishing off the outfit, a black-and-gold-chained bag adds a little bit more gold for the continuing New Year’s Eve vibe.
The fifth and final outfit for New Years Eve is for the hipsters! I called this outfit Sequin Hipster because it contains items that people are pairing together. I’ve been seeing a lot of glitter shorts lately in stores, and I’ve always wanted to try them out. What better way to ring in the new year than with a new style? This outfit has a sheer shirt in black that’s in just about every store now. Sheer shirts are great to wear with bandeaus and camis. Next we have adorable gold sequined shorts. These shorts are so fashion forward, and they are definitely a must-have for your wardrobe! The shorts would look great paired with tights during the cold winter months. During the summertime, you can ditch the tights and wear the same outfit. Next, we have chic booties with gold studs on them and a gold sequined bag to tie the outfit together.
