Deadline for Fulbright-mtvU Fellowships is Approaching!

By Kara Apel, Managing Editor

Are you interested in the culture of music? Love research? Have you always wanted to study abroad?

The Fulbright-mtvU Fellowship could be a perfect fit, but the clock is ticking! The deadline for submissions is March 1.

The fellowships are sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and according to a news release, "were established to promote the power of music as a global force for mutual understanding."

Rock band Imagine Dragons, singer-songwriter Rita Ora and DJ/Producer Steve Aoki will be reviewing and nominating submissions.

Students will spend one academic year conducting research involving an aspect of international musical culture. To learn more about the winners of the 2012 fellowships, click here to see their stories.

Know where you want to travel? According to the application, students will be able to study in any country of their choice (as long as that country that has an active Fulbright U.S. Student Program for Academic and Arts fields).
