Here's a little bit more about our guests:
Kristina Libby (@kristinalibby) works in PR for Microsoft Windows focusing on digital, social media and student oriented strategies. Her true passion is sparking and growing engaged online communities. She didn’t come to it in a normal fashion, though. Kristina has a M.A. in International Security focusing on genocide and a B.A. in International Politics and Religion. After finding out that those fields would quickly suck the fun out of any girl, she began to dabble in social media. After starting and running her own boutique Manhattan social media agency, Kristina moved to Seattle for fresh air, better hours and a view of the ocean.
Kari Dilloo (@karidilloo) is the Group Communications Manager for Bing & MSN at Microsoft.
I've been at Microsoft for almost six years working on consumer and corporate PR at Xbox for four years and most recently at Bing & MSN. Prior to Microsoft, I was at Expedia.com leading its consumer PR efforts; Edelman working on MSN 8, Cranium and Microsoft's Macintosh Business Unit; Imagio/J.Walter Thompson working on consumer tech & entertainment dot-coms including Atom.com (now part of Viacom); and Publicis working on food clients like the Washington State Potato Commission and Nestle. Some of my favorite (although not always glamorous) consumer PR memories include getting dressing up in a potato suit and appearing on Evening Magazine, going on Dr. Phil to give away a vacation package to a couple that lost their 'spark,' eating cheese with Christie Brinkley at her house in the Hamptons, helping convince Toru Iwatani (creator of Pac-Man) to make a new version of Pac-Man before he retired, and working with a variety of "celebrities" that felt compelled to wear sunglasses indoors long after their careers peaked (here's looking at you, John Ratzenberger and Marilu Henner).
