LinkedIn For Students Brings Networking to the Quad
Networking is important; we all know this, but when should you start? Immediately, many would say, and it seems the newest social media darling – LinkedIn – would agree.
Last week LinkedIn opened exclusive profiles for College students; it allows you to choose affliations in Greek life and University culture, and specific sections dedicated to projects, honors and awards, and other "experience" you've gained in your college career. This will help students and recent graduates who don't have a lot of experience in the professional arena because, now, they can showcase what they've done in their undergraduate careers and then – after they gain a bit of real-world experience – they can enhance their profiles.
Will you open one? Do you think Facebook is enough? Check out Jill Scherr's article later in the week on social media in college for more info on this topic.
