Tips For Finding the Best Holiday Deals Online
For those about to shop at the crack of dawn, we salute you, for you are the die-hard, the determined, the bright-eyed and bushy-tailed who brave the frenzied crowds in search of the ultimate Black Friday deal.
For those of you who are not among the die-hard and have not been researching for weeks where to find the best sales, do not fret. We hereby present to our Black Friday Sale Guide– the best sales await in your email box, on Twitter, and on Facebook.
Email: If you are a fashion-savvy shopper, chances are you already receive a million shopping-related emails in your inbox daily, from both online samples sales (Gilt, Rue La La) and your favorite brick-and-mortar stores. Instead of hitting delete, make sure to cull those emails for special Black Friday deals, such as J. Crew’s online Factory Store (open a day early for the holiday); Sephora’s gift with purchase tote bag; and Apple’s special online deals. One standout: Daily Candy’s Swirl Steals, where an Edun dress is slashed from $125 to $29 and a pair of $240 Rogan jeans are going for $39.
Twitter: Thank God for trending topics, because Twitter becomes a shopping goldmine when guided by the simple phrase #blackfriday. The trending topic reveals great sales at some of your favorite retailers, including QVC, Threadless, and Michael Kors. Even better, there are several Twitter pages devoted specifically to Black Friday, like @blackfriday, @blackfridaynet, and @blackfridayweb. These pages are amazing aggregators of the best online and in-store Black Friday sales, including deals from Smashbox cosmetics, Steve Madden, Macy's, and Gap.
Facebook: Like on Twitter, there are aggregator Facebook pages that compile all the best BF deals, like BlackFriday.net. In addition, some retailers have teamed with Facebook for a unique program called Deals, where shoppers can check in to a store via Facebook Places (or Foursquare) to obtain specific deals. Checking in at JCPenney via Facebook earns you $15 off a $75 purchase or $10 off a $50 purchase, and H&M rewards you with 20% off when checking in via Facebook. Old Navy, Starbucks, and American Eagle are in on the deal too.
So to get shopping, get clicking, and brace yourselves for the best Black Friday yet.
