Trend Report: Bold Floral Dresses

Spring is just around the corner and what better way to prepare than expanding that drab winter closet?  No matter how you accessorize, bold floral patterns can add color and flair as you welcome the warmer weather.

Daytime Fun

Perfect for a walk in the park, lunch date or shopping spree, Anthropologie’s Work-In-Progress Dress ($168) is an artsy take on your classic floral springtime dress. The flowing hem makes the dress casual enough for almost any event and the side sash helps to pull everything together without the need for a belt. Plus, the black and white flowers paired with the bright blooms expands the possibilities for matching accessories, like a clutch or cardigan.

Evening Rendezvous

Not usually a fan of ultra-feminine styles? Don’t fret. The stylists at Free People have got it right with the company’s Everything Nice Lace Dress ($98). As shown on the website, when paired with a leather jacket, the floral mini dress takes on a tougher edge, giving the outfit greater dimension. Pairing a girly piece with more boyish accessories makes it more rocker, less princess.

Anytime, All the Time

If you’re looking for an understated look while still keeping the floral touch, Urban Outfitter’s Lucca Couture Embellished Sundress ($59) is perfect for you. It’s less bold than the previous two looks because of the smaller print, which keeps it understated while still maintaining the classic floral look. The dress also features lace detailing. Add in brown boots and a thin brown belt, and the dress conveys an earthy tone, perfect for almost any occasion.
