U Chic Approved: Word-of-Mouth Marketing

By Amanda Cross, Student at University of Central Arkansas

As a college student, I am always looking to earn a bit of extra money or try out new products if the chance is given.

A few years ago, I started looking into ways to express my opinions about brands that I love, so I started looking into survey/word-of-mouth campaign sites. I love these websites because they allow me to express my opinions and earn cool rewards.

Here are three great sites for sharing your opinions and getting something back for it:

1. Crowdtap.com:
Crowdtap is a great website because it gives you a variety of ways to get involved: quick polls, photography challenges, discussions, hosted parties and sample shares. The best part is that those are just the tip of the iceberg; you can redeem your points for cool things like T-shirts and Amazon gift cards. Not to mention, Crowdtap gives away money to the charity with the most points earned by its users at the end of the month.

2. SurveyU.com:
I love SurveyU, mostly because it is geared toward college-aged people, but also because of the amount of surveys and the ease of redemption. The surveys are fast, easy and cool. So many brands go through SurveyU to find out information about college-goers. And the best part about SurveyU is you can redeem through Paypal, which can be used for a variety of things but can also put actual money into your bank account.

3. BzzAgent.com:
Word-of-mouth marketing is powerful and that is the basis of BzzAgent entirely. With brands behind BzzAgent such as Clean & Clear, Burt’s Bees, Orbit, Covergirl, Maybeline and more, it’s hard not to want to be a great BzzAgent. It’s fun to share your opinions of the items you get to try with your friends, hand out coupons and spread the word about the products you love.

I hope that these websites will help you get into the wonderful world of survey taking and word-of-mouth marketing! What are some of your favorite websites? Let me know in the comments!
