Campus Trends: Student Posers

The L.A. Times recently reported on people who claim to be students in college but are never actually enrolled in the school. One “student” was seeking approval from his parents while other “students” have been convicted criminals. They blend into the student scene by going to classes and activities like the rest of the student body.

The closest our school came to this situation was when a man snuck into a larger class and blended in for a part of the class period during a test. He went unnoticed until he started to rub a student’s leg in front of him. He didn’t last long at our school because classes rarely reach above 30 so an intruder is obvious, but most of these imposters target big schools that they can slip into a large lecture hall. Have there been any minor cases at your college?
