Meet Your Campus Queen Candidate: Alex/Kappa Kappa Gamma – Ole Miss

Week 2 of our Campus Homecoming Queen Contest is certainly getting interesting! While we've been letting y'all know about the charities we're supporting, some of the charities themselves have been spreading the word too – great job RIF!

And since reading IS fundamental, we want to make sure you know all about today's campus homecoming queen candidate. Alex is a Kappa Kappa Gamma at Ole Miss who knows a little about school pride. Her college just happens to be one of the top tailgating destinations in the country, so her and friends are totally hardcore when it comes to showing off their campus spirit. Girls wear dresses and heels to games, guys wear suits, and EVERYONE celebrates in The Grove – Oxford's prime spot for tailgating and cheering on their sports teams.

While Alex is really invested in the traditions of her school (some of which are changing so they're more inclusive to all students), she loves giving back to her community via the work she does with her sorority sisters for RIF (Reading is Fundamental).

A non-profit designed to encourage literacy in schools around the country, RIF has long been a mainstay for many rural and inner-city schools that lack funding for books and related materials. Volunteers read to students at local libraries, give their time at schools (where special days are set aside to give free books to students), and act as advocates in their communities for reading programs.

VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE CAMPUS HOMECOMING QUEEN AND HELP US GIVE BACK TO A GREAT CHARITY!
