As school is coming to a close for college kids across the country there are so many things that need to be done right now. As your prepping for the end, make sure you think smart and stay on track! We’ve got great tips that will keep you cool, calm and collected as you move into the sunny, summer season!
1. Make sure your books are in their proper places
It’s textbook buying season, which also means textbook returning season. If you have some book rentals it’d be a good ideas to make sure those books are where they are supposed to be. Textbook companies can begin to charge you for the missing books and you don’t want to have any unnecessary charges on your account at the end if you can help it. Some bookstores have grace periods, but most won’t be that kind.
If you have a book you want to sell back make sure you do your research and sell them back early enough to create a profit. If you are finished with a book early in the week, sell as soon as you can, because as more people return their books yours is worth less.
2. Play trash or keep
Some notes are important to keep—especially in your major courses, but some you can take straight to the recycle bin. Look through all your notes and decide which ones to keep and which ones to throw away. Have a dedicated space for those you plan to keep so that they don’t overflow in your room. If you don’t have a space for them, it may be best to throw them away.
3. Know where you stand
Before you completely check out for the summer it’s important that you realize where you stand as far as grades, graduating on time, and financial aid:
- Grades. Check in on your grades and make sure they are where you think they should be. If you are surprised with your grade you need to ask your professor now, not right before the fall semester. Make sure you tie up any loose ends as far as grades go right now.
- Graduating On Time. It doesn’t take long to do a little check of your grades and how many classes you have taken and have left to go. This is so you know exactly where you stand when you go into your next year of school.
- Financial Aid. Your school should be quickly coming to a close on financial aid decisions soon. Make sure all your financial aid is lining up the way that you would like it to. If you have any questions now would be the time to ask them so that you have many months of being worry free during the summer.
It can be difficult to make the transition from school to summer and these tips will help you with that. Enjoy the last few weeks of school and have a safe and happy summer!
