Emma - 1000 Dreams

Emma - 1000 Dreams

My dream is to go to a great college and graduate. Then I want to get a job that I enjoy, where I can speak Spanish on a daily basis.  I want to try new things and meet new people everywhere I go. I want to live by Mother Teresa’s motto,” Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.”

How the 1000 Dreams Fund helped me:

I used my grant to buy textbooks I’ll need for my Spanish courses at the University of Arkansas next year.

My Inspiration:

My inspiration comes from my Aunt.  She has endless amounts of patients and can always make people laugh.  She is the strongest woman I know and I’m extremely lucky to be her niece!

Challenges I Face:

Obvious challenges are funding for college and the opportunities I’ll have there. Traveling abroad is vital for becoming fluent in a language. I plan to go to a Spanish speaking country and immerse myself in their culture.

My quote of inspiration for others:

If I could change one thing in the world, I would change labels. Labels make any relationship more complicated. Without the pressure of labels, people are able to be themselves more often and they can find out who they truly are.  Also they can begin to follow their dreams and achieve their goals faster when they can be the themselves.
