GET INSPIRED: From Runway Queen to TV Screen

With all of the female celebrities out there with a litany of drug and alcohol problems and scandalous sex-capades with various people sometimes it can be hard to find a woman in the industry who is hot, sexy, but classy at the same time. A diva who is fabulous in more than one way is Kimora Lee Simmons, the former model turned fashion designer who is behind the popular and chic Baby Phatclothing line.

I have loved Kimora since I first saw her in magazines. And I only grew to love her more as she stepped outside of her former husband and rap media mogul, Russel Simmon’s shadow, and began making appearances and moves on her own. The African American/Japanese-Korean, beauty is much more than a pretty face – she is a woman with a mission. She now can add more to her title of projects as she now has own reality show entitled Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane on Style network. In her new show you get to see all sides of Kimora from fashion diva to mother of her two daughters, to powerful and savvy business woman.

What I have always admired about Kimora is that she created her own aura of “hip hop chicness”, but crosses over those lines as she is a part of the inner circle of the “It Crowd” in celebrity notoriety. While she did become more known because of her marriage to Russell Simmons, she definitely has redefined herself as a millennium woman who can make moves on her own, without breaking a single nail. It may not be surprising to see how much confidence she has seeing as she is close friends and childhood best friends with the former Victoria Secret runway model and outspoken talk show host, Tyra Banks, who also is a “power woman”. Looks can be deceiving as Kimora has admitted that she was teased as a child because of her racial background and height – but that experience is what gave her the spirit to never give up no matter what anyone says.

Kimora also shows women how to master their “fabulousness” has a book out called Fabulosity: What It Is and How to Get It, which “breaks it down” on how to be a fabulous, yet powerful woman. To check out her show on the Style network tune in on Sunday nights at 8/7c on the Style network!
