Glimpse of Gorgeous: Roberto Cavalli for H&M

2007 has really been a breakthrough year in affordable fashion. Designers are starting to see the light at the end of the fashion tunnel. That light, being us. Broke fashionistas pining for the opportunity to wear fabulous designers. I thought the fashion gods were finished when they brought us Marc by Marc Jacobs but now, Roberto Cavalli is coming out with a line for H&M! Who knows what will happen next?

Today (Nov. 8th) is the launch of Roberto Cavalli’s top designer collaboration at H&M. The very talented, very popular latin designer happens to be a favorite among celebs like Mischa Barton, Scarlett Johansson, and Victoria Beckham. The line features an underlying rock glamour theme with lots and lots of animal print on everything from jackets to lingerie.

No outfit would be complete without accessories. Cavalli brings us bone and pearl pendants, cuff bracelets, gold sandals, and black satin Mary Janes

Fashion is an expression of freedom. This collaboration with H&M allows me to give a gift to the young audience that loves what I do, and identifies with my creativity, but might not be able to own a Roberto Cavalli piece. The collection I have designed for H&M contains all the elements of my signature Cavalli style, and is infused with glamour and joy’, explains Roberto Cavalli on the H&M website.

Prices are slightly more expensive than your typical H&M spendings, but totally worth they buy. Where else are you going to find Roberto Cavalli for $199? Besides, you need a great dress for all of those holiday parties you’ll be invited to. The collection will be available at approximately 200 H&M stores nationwide.

I’m hoping that 2008 will continue this amazing trend. My closet would love to be visited by some top name designers, and my wallet will surely thank me. And as you sit around pining for the next designer to reach out to us mere mortals, send up a prayer for Karl Lagerfeld to do a line at Target (just kidding, but seriously!) and be GORGEOUS!
