Glimpse of Gorgeous: Spring Preview (Part III)
I’ve recently been on this match-my-make-up-to-my-clothes kick, and somehow, I have fallen in love with rich tones of purple, which really bring out my dark green eyes. Purple happens to go with most of the fall/winter colors, but as I look into the crystal ball of spring fashion (aka Elle Magazine), I can see that purple will be going on a “spring break” of sorts.
The colors of this season are much more lighthearted and whimsical than the jewel tones of Fall. As a moderately light-skinned brunette, this is not necessarily good news. However, the right make-up can warm up a pale complexion and compliment all of the pastels and neutrals we will be seeing in the near future.
No matter what color your skin is, shades of gold and shimmery peaches and pinks are perfect for the eyes. They give out a certain glow that says, “*sigh* I really don’t try that hard to be this beautiful.” I happen to love anything by MAC for eyes. (if they made toilet paper I would so buy it!). Their high-pigmented color paired with a light primer, will stay fresh all day.
Stray away from dark lipsticks or those with a pink tint. Instead, choose shades of coral and more orangey tones. If you go for a lipstick, I recommend Chanel Aqualumiere Sheer Colour Lipshine with SPF 15. For a glossier finish, I absolutely ADORE Estee’ Lauder’s Pure Color gloss in Praline.
For a dewy, sun-kissed glow, use a tinted moisturizer instead of a heavy foundation and top it with a coral-colored cream blush.
On your nails, give the dark purples, reds, and blacks a break. Go with a nude or shimmery pink.
Spring’s fashion is all about being super feminine and lighthearted, and there is just something about matching your make-up with your clothes that seems to fit right in. So, match your face to your fashion and be GORGEOUS!
