Harvard and Princeton Take Away Early Decision Option

 Back when we reviewed Kaavya Viswanathan’s How Opal Mehta Got Kissed, Got Wild, and Got a Life, the story was, Opal got denied for early admissions at Harvard and spent the next few months preparing for regular admissions. Well now universities like Harvard and Princeton are doing away with their early admissions programs. “Schools argued that early admissions informally discriminates against disadvantaged students and fuels anxiety.” While the schools claim it really won’t affect many students (and they’re probably right), it’s still sparking major discussion.
