The Last Word: The Back Nine

Hello Chicsters!

I’ve missed you! Well, I’ve been away so I really wasn’t thinking about anything beyond sunscreen, coconut flavored drinks and reading my Kindle under a boutiful palm tree. Yes, be jealous 😉 I spent the last week in an Island Paradise (Jamaica to be precise, no worries mon) and now I’m back to the daily grind. That rain was CRAZY! I couldn’t believe how much damage was done to my hometown–did your town survive? I hope so!

Monday, as far as I’m concerned, is really the first day of the last classes I will ever have to take in a traditional setting. I’ll always be learning and might even pick up a few seminars along the way, but I know I’ll never be back in a classroom again (unless someone pays me mucho bucks to do so!). It’s a weird feeling; to know I’ll never have to hand in assignments, sit through (sometimes boring) lectures or rely on a teacher’s opinion for the “right” way to do things. I don’t know…will I miss it? Sure. Will you? I think we all will, but I think this next period of our lives, this “grown-up” period is going to be the best one yet!! Think about it–we’ll have real money (like a salary!), real freedom (can you say studio apartment!), and real lives! It’s all about our choices, our lives and I can’t wait!

So get excited people!! The Last Word is going to take on these experiences and begin to show you how I’m coping with being on the Back Nine, just in time for Tiger Woods’ return to Golf. Speaking of which, what do you think about that?

That’s all for this week ladies, I’m still getting back into the habit of you know school, work, life–more next week. Have a great week and remember to always have your opinion heard, whether it’s the last word or not!

XOXO

V
