LOL of the Day: Learning From…YouTube?
Do you find that you sometimes spend more time watching YouTube than actual television? Well, there's a perfect college course for you.
Pitzer College, a school in Claremont, CA, is offering a class called "Learning from YouTube." Students in the class actually get to post videos on the site as part of the course requirements!
According to an interview with the Associated Press, class professor Alexandra Juhasz hopes that the class will raise questions about YouTube like the role of "corporate-sponsored democratic media expression."
I don't know about you, but if I had a choice between writing a twenty-page paper or posting a two minute clip on YouTube for class, I'd do the latter. But I'd feel weird getting college credit browsing a website that I already spend too much time on as it is!
If you want to see what kind of videos students are posting for class, go to their YouTube page.
