Real Talk Monday: Prisoner to Image?
Chaos has recently ensued within the Delta Zeta community at DePauw University in Indiana.
This past November, the sorority’s national officers cut 23 of its loyal members because of a professor’s opinion that the group’s ladies were seen as “socially awkward.”
Conveniently enough, many of the sisters that were dismissed didn’t meet the national officers’ idea of physical perfection – some were overweight and others were the only black, Vietnamese, and Korean members. Needless to say, this caused an uproar on many levels at the university, calling all kinds of national attention.
