Just this morning, tragedy hit Virginia Tech’s campus as a gunman opened fire in a dorm and classroom, killing at least 30 people (that’s the number officials have so far). The gunman was killed, too but it’s still unclear whether the police took his life or if he shot himself.

Details are still being investigated, but this is definitely one of those worst mass shootings in U.S. history. And although we see a lot of sad events on the news everyday, this kind of thing really hits home because so many of us consider campus grounds to be a place of safety and comfort.
