Each week during our 60-day Indiegogo campaign, we will introduce you to the awesome young women we are funding if our campaign goal is successfully reached. Each young women could receive a $1,000 scholarship if our goal is met. This week we’d like to introduce you to Emma and JoLynn!

My Story:

My dream is to go to a great college and graduate. Then I want to get a job that I enjoy, where I can speak Spanish on a daily basis.  I want to try new things and meet new people everywhere I go. I want to live by Mother Teresa’s motto,” Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.”

My Inspiration:

My inspiration comes from my Aunt.  She has endless amounts of patients and can always make people laugh.  She is the strongest woman I know and I’m extremely lucky to be her niece!

Challenges I Face:

Obvious challenges are funding for college and the opportunities I’ll have there. Traveling abroad is vital for becoming fluent in a language. I plan to go to a Spanish speaking country and immerse myself in their culture.

If I get funded I will:

Having $1000 scholarship from UChic would be so awesome. With that generous support, I would be able to travel abroad and not have to worry too much about all the extra costs that come with traveling abroad.

My quote of inspiration for others:

“If I could change one thing in the world, I would change labels. Labels make any relationship more complicated. Without the pressure of labels, people are able to be themselves more often and they can find out who they truly are.  Also they can begin to follow their dreams and achieve their goals faster when they can be the themselves.”

My Story:

I want to attend college. I want college to give me the foundation to go out and make a noticeable difference in the world.  By attending college and learning as much as possible, I can make my own dreams come true as well as serve as a positive resource for others.

My Inspiration:

I saw firsthand the value of a college education in my own family. My mom showed me through her example that a college education was the best investment.  However, it wasn’t until I discovered my true passion, while taking an economics class. Finding my passion has made my dream of college become my reality.

Challenges I face:

Money is a big limiting factor.  I have the desire and drive to attend college; however, the financial aspect is a challenge I face.

If I Get Funded I Will:

The scholarship would allow me to visit colleges across the country.  These college visits would let me explore college campuses and find out which college is right for me and my aspirations.

My Quote of Inspiration For Others:  

“If I could change one thing, I would let everyone know that when considering the future, you should find what you’re passionate about and let it drive you to excellence. No mediocrity, never settling for second best, only you, chasing the dream that makes you happy. That’s what’s actually important.”
