As the second semester is in full swing, it’s easy to feel down. The weather is usually cold (unless you live in the south—lucky gals!), the homework starts to pile up, and for some of us, it may mean graduation’s approaching (um, YIKES!). The amount of stress that students endure sometimes can be overwhelming and you need to take a break. So, how do you let loose, stay focused, and happy? Take a quick break and find out how you can get back on track and make the most of your second semester!

#1—Dance Party

Yeah, you read that right—have a dance party! Even if it’s for a few minutes for a break during studying, it’s great to have a little dance party to dance out the nerves or the stress that you’ve been harboring.

#2—Make a Checklist

Every morning to help stay productive throughout the day, I make a checklist of everything I need to accomplish. Make Google Calendar your BFF! If your school email is a Gmail account this should be easy to maneuver. In Gmail, all you have to do is click the little square button in the top right corner, and click “Calendar.” The calendar will bring you to events that you’ll be able to schedule for the day. Go to the button that says “create” and you can create an event, schedule the time, place who’s involved and you can get notified on your phone, that way you’ll stay on track the whole day! Google not your thing? Check out some great other Chicster-approved alternative here.

#3— Remember to Live for the Moment!

It’s important to remember all of the great things you’ve accomplished and the opportunities that you’ve been given. Remember that life is short, and you should live it up every chance you get! I suggest pinning some awesome quotes on Pinterest to help you get through a tough day. Here’s a great one, “Life is too unpredictable and short so live it exactly as you please.”  You never know what tomorrow might bring, so make sure you spend time with your friends and family, tell them you love them, take pictures, reflect on the good and you’re sure to be happy.

Beat the stress, stay happy and have an awesome second semester!
