Top 5 Albums of 2009
Despite being in the age of mp3’s, iPods and Pandora Radio, there are still a handful of must-have albums you should purchase each year.
Lady Gaga – With five #1 hits, five Grammy nominations and a killer wardrobe, there’s no end in sight for this out-of-the-world performer. Her album, The Fame Monster is currently #14 on Billboards top 200, and is sure to go down in Pop icon history.
Michael Buble – Our generations very own Frank Sinatra. Buble’s smooth voice and clean-cut appearance is enough to make any girl melt. His optimistic outlook on life and love, shine through on his album Crazy Love. His hit song, “Haven’t Met You Yet” is guaranteed to put a smile on your face, and your heart.
Jay-Z– As the last volume in his “Blueprint” trilogy, Blueprint 3 proves to us once again why Jay-Z is the king of hip-hop. Featuring hits such as “Young Forever,” “Run This Town,” and “Empire State of Mind,” this album is a must buy for any hip-hop fan.
Glee Vol. 1 & 2 – The only thing better than the TV show is the show’s soundtrack. With 37 remade classics and an ensemble of amazing voices, Glee is sure to steal to your heart and become the soundtrack of your day. “Don’t’ Stop Believing,” still sends chills down my spine.
Owl City– Adam Young exploded onto the music scene this summer with his chart topping single, “Fireflies.” With sparkling electronics and a soothing voice, Young’s lyrics grab your soul and dances with it through fields of flowers and butterflies. His songs are whimsical and dreamlike, and his album Ocean Eyes is like a buffet of sweet deserts.
