Trend Report: The Hottest Maxi Dresses of Summer
Say the word “summer” and all I think of is tanning on a beach and drinking some kind of refreshing fruity drink with an umbrella in it. What I don’t imagine doing? Spending lots of time picking out an outfit. That’s why I think maxi dresses should be part of every girl’s hot weather wardrobe. They’re so light, airy, and so easy to wear, you’ll spend less time getting ready and more time having fun (and looking super-cute in the process!).
This cute strapless twist-front black maxi dress from PacSun ($24.50) is the perfect start to any outfit. I love that it’s girly, but not so much so that you can’t add some big-city flair with a shrunken denim jacket and some studded sandals.
I have to admit, I am a little bit obsessed with this green strapless maxi from Victoria’s Secret ($34.99). Everything about it — from the cool patent leather trim around the bodice to the built-in shelf bra makes it obsession-worthy. I could totally see myself wearing this to the beach during the day and going out to dinner with it right after. Bonus: You can totally glam itup with a few mixed bangles or a big floppy hat.
Have a summer wedding to attend? Try this purple kaftan sleeve maxi from Asos ($93.00). The color is gorgeous- very flattering on almost all skin tones and the cut is forgiving, thanks in part to the deep v-neck and light weight material. The key-hole back gives it just a bit of sex appeal (but not too much). No need to pile on accessories- this dress can do all the talking by itself. Just add a sparkly cocktail ring, some gold heels, and a small clutch and you’ll be good to go.
One look at this dress from Arden B ($49.00) and you’ll have to have it. Maybe it’s because I grew up right next to the ocean, or maybe it’s because I’m a Pisces, but I love to wear colors that remind me of the water at sunset. Pretty, unique, and totally trendy, this art deco-inspired – not only is it a maxi but it is also one shouldered and has a great art-deco print. Add some silver sandals and you’re ready for a night out with the ladies.
