Trend Report: Spring’s Hottest Swimsuit Styles

While there may still be snow on the ground in some parts of the country, every college student seems to have their minds set on one thing: spring break. And what is spring break without the season’s hottest new swimsuit trends? Here’s a look at just a few that will be sure to have heads turning as you stroll along the beach.

Polka Dots: They’re everywhere this season! If you’re like me and love even the girliest of details, check out Victoria’s Secret Balconet Top and Matching Bottoms ($25.00; $14.50). The ruffles, polka dots and various colors make for a fun and flirty vibe while you’re laying out in the sun or scoping for cute boys on the beach.

Cutout:  If you are hoping for a more unique look, Abercrombie & Fitch’s Melanie Swimsuit ($58.00) might be a great option. The cutout floral design shows you’re a trendsetter who loves to have a good time. But beware: As adorable as this swim style is,  the tan lines making wearing another suit nearly impossible.

Vintage-Inspired: The 1950’s are back, and with that comes the kitschy prints and demure styles that once heated up your grandparents’ beach adventures. Free People’s Printed High Waisted Bikini ($198) is eye-catching, but also wallet-busting.  It’s the perfect look if you have an hourglass shape, but probably best to avoid if you’re a bit bottom-heavy.

Whether you’ve got a week or a month to the big trip, these hot trends will keep you going until you can spend some much needed fun in the sun.
