Twilight Author to make a rare public appearance

Stephanie Meyer has been a self-proclaimed “hermit” for the last year, not really jumping into the New Moon media frenzy taking over the nation and even this website. In two days, Friday, November 13th, she’s coming out where the whole world will see her. The lucky host to land that interview? None other than Oprah.

Why did Meyer decide to finally come out of the Fork-esque vampire shadows?

“I’m doing this for a good reason: I am so pleased and amazed and thrilled with what Chris Weitz has done with New Moon that I want to talk about it, and to show my support for him,” she writes on her website.

Meyer also notes on her site that since not all Oprah Winfrey Show audiences are not as familiar with Twilight as dedicated, merchandise-buying, fang-toting, line-waiting fans are, the interview questions will be designed for a broader audience.

To rectify the generalities and boredom of more devoted fans, Meyer will be answering more in-depth questions online. The official Twilight Saga website will be taking any New Moon movie-related questions (from November 9 to 10) and Meyer will then answer the most frequently asked questions, posting them on the saga site and on her own site (on premiere day – November 16)

Meyer is “only doing one interview,” so don’t miss it. To find out when this blessed public appearance is going to take place on your side of the country, check the local listings on Oprah’s website to see what time it will be on.
