If you're majoring in journalism, communications, advertising or public relations, the Public Relations Scholarship, sponsored by the Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation (CKSF), is ideal for you.

Applicants must complete the free online registration at the CKSF website. The contest, designed to "reward students for demonstrating what they know," has two rounds. The first one is a short, multiple choice online quiz based on questions from college-level public relations courses. The top 20 students progress to the second round.

Participants in this round will submit articles on one of three topics. They can be no more than two pages long, and are judged on creativity, accuracy and correct use of Associated Press style. First place is awarded $250, and second and third place winners will receive $50 gift certificates. The deadline is February 4th.
